Zarna Mohan

Zarna Mohan is a senior teacher of Iyengar Yoga from Hyderabad, India. She began her yoga journey at the age of 18 in the year 1974 under Father Joe Pereira in Mumbai. In the year 1977 she joined Yogacharya B.K.S. Iyengar. She began teaching in the early 1980’s in Mumbai under ‘Light on Yoga Research Trust. During this time she completed her Masters in Philosophy from the Mumbai (erstwhile Bombay ) University.
After marriage Zarna moved to Hyderabad in 1986 and introduced Iyengar Yoga to the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. She laid a strong foundation of Iyengar Yoga in Hyderabad along with being a full time employee of Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
Besides having her own classes Zarna taught Iyengar Yoga in several institutions and organisations like Ramakrishna Math, RBI, NABARD, and NPA (National Police Academy) where she has done training sessions for fresh recruits and Senior IPS Officers. Besides these, she also conducts workshops at Rishikesh and Bellary. She has recently conducted workshops in Bulgaria and Istanbul.
In 2016, she retired from RBI and now devotes all her time to Yoga. Besides conducting regular classes, she focuses on conducting therapy classes for people suffering from different ailments.
She has been honoured by Sri. Bandaru Dattatreya, the then Union Minister for Labour for her contributions in the field of yoga in 2015.
Zarna Mohan is a talented and experienced exponent of yoga. Her classes are infused with wisdom, humour and philosophy of yoga – it enables her students to experience relief and freedom, having touched the deeper levels of their being.
